An Event of Olympic Proportions

Since the Olympics began on Friday, I decided that this week would be a good week to do an Olympic event with the kids. I wanted to make it as close to the regular Olympics as possible, with the exclusion of the actual events, of course. We talked about the Olympic symbol and what it stands for, made flags with the Olympic symbol, and I made Olympic torches for the kids. We had an "opening ceremony," complete with a parade through the center with our torches and flags, and today we did a bunny hop race and a bean bag throw event. I will be posting the results of the events, so that the parents can see what their kids are doing and how they are performing during our Olympic event. I have many other events planned, and will be posting them on this blog.
